Good afternoon everybody!

Yesterday and today I went to the Ohio Arts panel meetings for their most recent grant giveaway. We are very lucky that there is state funding for artist in Ohio; there are many states that stop doing so. There were different categories 3d, 2d, craft, chorography, music composition, performing arts. We mostly stayed around in the 2d and craft rooms since they related more to us as artist. It’s open to anyone in Ohio excluding students. Almost every type of artist applied, some amazingly talented ones to those that look like they just pulled something together in hopes to win 5,000 to 10,000. The Ohio Arts Council doesn’t give you any restrictions on what to do with you money. So next year around I do believe I’ll apply…why not? It would very helpful whether it is getting the grant or receive some great criticism from some well known artists.
I know the friends that I was with were very thrilled about seeing their teacher (Kelly Malec Kosak) be one of the chosen ones. Although none of the winners are completely official. All of us are excited to see her work thrive, and recognized. I have not taken any jewelry classes while I was attend so I myself never had her as a professor. But I hear many many wonderful things about her. She must made quite a mark on the panel with her pacifiers such as this one

Alright, 5th time around...Or some number like that

So, I really do love this whole blog idea. Problem with me, I just haven't stuck with one. Exploring the blogs of all these wonderfully talented and experienced ladies sorta give me a scare. I find many of them so inspirational and motivating. Plus I'm not as computer suave as most people of my generation. But I'm going to do! Feel free to giggle with me as I experiment what I can do with this blog, and what I can do as a artist still trying to figure myself out. Everything always feel better with laughter.
I have been working on portraits and figure drawings for my Etsy shop. Which isn't actually open but that will change hopefully by next week. I'll post more later to show you my progress.
